Super Spicy Immune Cider
During the winter months, this amazing (and spicy!) blend of ingredients will keep the sickness at bay! You don't need very much of it but a small dose every day will do wonders for your immune system. And if you do start feeling like you're coming down with something, take a few extra swallows and it will be gone in no time!
1/2 cup finely chopped garlic (do not mince)
1/2 cup chopped yellow onions
1/2 cup finely chopped fresh ginger
1/2 cup grated fresh horseradish (use larger holes in grater, not the smaller ones)
1/2 cup finely chopped jalapeno or other spicy pepper (do this one last and be sure to thoroughly wash your hands and any utensils when finished)
Raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar
Lemon juice (optional)
Combine chopped ingredients into a half-gallon jar or any other glass container. Add enough apple cider vinegar to thoroughly cover and saturate all ingredients. Loosely cover the jar with cheesecloth or a plate or saucer which allows air flow but will keep airborne bacteria from easily entering the jar. Leave at room temperature for 14 days, stirring daily.
After 14 days, strain and discard all solids leaving only the apple cider vinegar. Store indefinitely in the refrigerator.
Place a few drops in a small glass of water. Add honey and fresh-squeezed lemon juice (optional) to taste. The Super Spicy Immune Cider can be taken daily to enhance immune function. And during the cold winter months, it is delicious as a warm, spicy cup of immune tea!
